Quarter 3 Week 6 – Week of February 12
Happy Sunday Hawk Families!
ELPAC testing continues for all our English Learners. Please take some time to watch the video below to get an overview of the ELPAC test. We also invite you to join us at our next (ELAC ) English Language Advisory Council meeting on February 15th at 8:00. Join the conversation regarding our English Language Learners. Do you know what it means that your child is an English Learner? If not, come find out and ask us all the questions you have.
Last message… We need your help with our Annual YMCA Campaign. We are hoping to continue to raise funds to support our YMCA families. The money raised during this campaign go to help our local families with scholarships to attend our before and after-school YMCA and DASH programs. Please click on this link or the image below and donate $5, $10, or whatever you can! Help our Heritage Families get the resources they need to support their families. Thank you!

ATTENDANCE & CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM
Please make sure that your children/students are coming to school and are on time. We’ve had an increase in tardies and absences, which can have a negative impact on their learning and on families who are on Zone Transfers. CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM is when a student is absent for 10% or more of the school year. It impacts students ability to form strong relationships with peers, impacts students ability to perform well academically, and can create poor habits that are hard to break. CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM is created by both excused and unexcused absences. Please communicate with the office if your family expects to take time off (3 days or more) from school so that we can support you with an Independent Contract while you are away. By doing this your student(s) will not be marked absent. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Please see see below for when to call in sick and when to keep your student at home.
