A Note From Our New Superintendent Dr. Eduardo Reyes

With decreasing COVID-19 positive cases, reduced hospitalizations, and more individuals being vaccinated, we are re-examining our mask mandates.  Currently, we are happy to announce a lifting of the requirement to wear masks outdoors at school. This policy update will take effective on Monday, February 28. Of course, any student or staff member who feels more comfortable wearing a mask while outdoors at school is welcome to continue to do so.  We continue to have the mandate to always wear masks indoors for all students and adults.   We will continue to monitor health organizations recommendations, and local, state, and federal mandates to determine the best course of action as we navigate through this pandemic.

CVESD School Year Calendar 2021-2022

Reminders

Helmets

Helmets are required as per California state law. Please remind your child to wear a helmet if they are riding to school on a bike, skateboard, scooter, etc. In order to protect the safety of your children, we will hold onto your child’s bike, skateboard, scooter, etc. until a parent or guardian come to pick them up from the main office or until a helmet is provided for safe travel.

Cell Phones

As per CVESD Acceptable Use Technology Agreement, all cell phones must be turned off and put away in backpacks as students enter the school gates. If they are found on your child, the cell phone may be confiscated and turned into the office. Parents may be required to pick up a cell phone if this becomes a regular habit. You are welcome to call the school at (619) 421-7080 if you have any questions.

Toys

Please keep all toys at home. Unfortunately, we are seeing a great number of toys making their way onto campus. Many of these toys are becoming a distraction to the learning environment. We understand that sometimes students need the support of a fidget or some form of toy, unless agreed upon by the teacher, we ask that all toys stay at home. Thank you for your support.
